My life is blessed because I am able to call Jeremias and Kendra, and many others who serve under this church my friends! In the USA I work with women and children and have a passion for seeing all of them understand the gospel and develop their relationships with Jesus. I am confident when I say that this passion is the same and executed beautifully throughout the Dominican Republic through this mission team. I have worshiped beside them, watch them give all they have to those in greater need and experienced the best hugs and love from a lovely community! (Despite the trouble in communicating two different languages. I’m working on that!) It is my hope and my prayer that others will choose to travel and serve with them. I am not naive to believe that my spending a week in service here will drastically change the life of the people of this country. However, I truly believe that spending time there helps me understand the greater needs that my friends have on their mission field which is very different than my own. It also allows me the opportunity to watch them serve and appreciate their dedication to the Lord! I implore you to reach out and meet the De’Leons. Join them at the mission house. Experience their mission field. Pour into them spiritually, financially, emotionally and with your talents and gifts! One thing I truly love about how this mission works is that it’s not through a ”corporation”. The money I choose to send goes to a local bank here in Alabama and directly to their mission. It eases my mind about how so many places misuse funds. You won’t regret befriending this family, in fact I dare to say you won’t resist falling in love with them!

Our mission trips have included working with various churches, painting, light construction, prayer walks, VBS, Revivals, Men’s and Women’s Ministry, Orphan Ministry, School Ministry, Prison Ministry, and so much more. These mission experiences have helped our church, FBC Moody, AL, to grow in our focus on Missions, and every single person who has gone on one of the mission trips has grown Spiritually.

I always feel that I come away with a far greater blessing. No matter the work or conditions I am always a bit sad to leave because even though I may not understand much of what they say, love needs no translation.
